Independent Schools VAT &?#! Do Not Fear. There is Another Option...

Some things in life, however hard we try, we are unable to control. Sadly, the lifting of VAT exemption on Independent schools, falls into this category!

Reports state that 20 independent schools have already closed. Post VAT announcement enrolments are down by 2.4%, and over 130,000 pupils have entered the already overstretched state school system - almost 100,000 more than predicted by the government!

Interestingly, international student enrolments are also down, driven by increased international school fees, dreaded VAT and stricter visa requirements which by default could also stifle the natural supply chain of international students into UK Universities. The knock on financial impact could certainly sting for years to come.
