I don't particularly count myself as a feminist but I do value equality, mutual respect and values. If I do a good job, I like for it to be acknowledged, and if in business, remunerated appropriately and dare I say it, equally!
Many tenacious women fought hard for woman's rights, to give us the vote and freedom of choice. For that reason I salute International Women's Day. A day when us ladies, can pat ourselves on the back and for a moment acknowledge what we have, and indeed, can achieve.
We are daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers, aunties, carers, leaders, wives and partners - we remember birthdays, renewal dates, school events, walk the dog, feed the cat, clean the car, mow the lawn, hang a picture and yet still LOVE a sitcom, romcom and an action movie.
We are unusually complex, we are sensitive, we are tough and we are... well just us.
Happy International Women's Day and as Yoda would say, may the force be with you.
